Patrick frowned slightly as he heard Alli pretend to act like she didn't care that she hadn't seen Alex. Despite the differences they were experiencing, he couldn't imagine such a separation with Pam.

"You know you kids don't have to stay in here," his father said. "You can go back upstairs."

"I'll stay down here," Pam said. Pat looked over at Alli.

"What do you want to do?" he asked.

Alliana noticed Pat frowning but instead diverted her attention around the room so that she wouldn't continue feeling down. She didn't want to feel like that tonight, not when she was supposed to be having fun. And she had been having fun, up until the mention of Alex. So she would just shake it off and continue having fun.

Hearing their father's words she paused, glancing back toward Pat to see what he wanted to do. Pam was staying down here and then Pat was asking her what she wanted to do. Honestly, whatever they did wouldn't bother her. Saying she wanted to go upstairs might look bad though, and of course she didn't mind staying down here talking to his family.

So hoping that Pat understood her small dilemma without speaking it and understanding her indecisiveness, she gave him a small smile and shrugged. "Up to you, either is fine with me."

Patrick noticed that Alli diverted her attention from him. When she said that the choice was up to him, he didn't know what to do.

On the one hand, he really wanted to spend some alone time with Alli. But on the other hand, he didn't want to give Pam another reason to resent him.

His father seemed to sense his dilemma. "You two can go upstairs," he said with a knowing smile.

Pam even winked at Pat, which caused him to try not to blush.

Alliana hadn't meant to put Pat on the spot by sending the decision back to him, and she gave him a slightly apologetic smile when she noticed that he didn't seem to know what to do any more then her. Oops, poor Pat. She thought to herself, biting her lower lip absently.

When Pat's father told them that they could go upstairs followed by a knowing smile, she looked down at the floor and tried to pretend she had no idea what the smile was meant for. Which was an extremely hard task, seeing as what the man had been calling from the kitchen before. She exhaled slowly to keep the blush from her cheeks and glanced up just in time to see Pam winking at Pat, which nearly sent her over the edge on the embarrassment scale. Since when was she so bloody sensitive to comments like that?!

Chuckling she shifted her weight before glancing over to Pat, waiting for him to recover as well.

Okay Patrick, breathe and you can blush when you're out of the room.

He looked over at Alli and saw that she almost looked as uncomfortable as he felt--which he didn't even think was possible as he felt extremely embarrassed. He wouldn't even be surprised if his cheeks were tinged with red.

"Shall we?" Patrick asked Alli as he got up and held out a hand for her. Pam giggled a bit behind Patrick's back.

The moment Pat looked over at her Alliana nearly lost her cool, but with another exhale and a steady grip on her lower lip, she managed not to turn into a blushing tomato. She was probably a little pink in the cheeks though, because she could feel how warm they'd gotten in the short time that had passed.

Smiling slightly she nodded and reached out to take his hand, standing from the couch and doing her best not to appear embarrassed. She was well aware that they had an audience while leaving the room and she hoped she didn't trip or something.

While that would be the worst, at least she would be being embarrassed for that and not the things everyone was insinuating!

Patrick watched his step as he walked around the table. The kittens loved to dart out from underneath and trip someone up.

Why did this feel so awkward? He blamed his father and that Talk they had in the kitchen. As they walked up the stairs, he could hear Pam burst out laughing.

"Well, that could have gone better," he said with a smile to Alli.

Alliana followed after Pat, keeping her eyes downcast in case any kittens decided to trip her up or if her body suddenly decided that now was a good time to be clumsy. But they both made it to the stairs relatively unscathed and she felt herself exhaling the moment they were out of the view of both Pam and his father.

Even though she heard Pam laughing from the living room, she could only laugh a bit as well. The situation was pretty funny if someone were to actually think about it.

"I agree." She said with a grin, following him up the stairs and giving his hand a small squeeze. "Could have been a lot worse too, though." She reasoned.

"Yes it could have," Patrick nodded as he began to ascend the stairs. "Shall we go up to my room?"

Two-Bit had followed them from the room and struggled up the stairs. Patrick shook his head and went to go pick him up.

"Silly kitty," he said with a smile as he rubbed his nose in Two-Bit's fur. He walked back to Alli.

Alliana nodded in reply to his question. "Sure." She wasn't sure what they would end up doing but as long as she was with him she really didn't care. As sappy as that might have sounded it was also true.

She glanced backward when she heard the sound of feet coming up behind them on the stairs and chuckled when she saw Two-Bit. The kitten was adorable, and was never far from Pat's side of course. She waited on the stairs as Pat went to go retrieve the kitten, smiling at the small exchange between the two.

Once Pat got back to her she slowly began to walk up the rest of the stairs.

Pat walked back up the stairs and held the door of his room open for Alli. Two-Bit wiggled out of his arms and climbed onto a pillow that had landed on the floor.

"Are you alright? You seemed slightly off downstairs when Alex was mentioned," he asked as he sat down on his bed. He patted the area next to him with a smile.

"Join me?"

Alliana thanked Pat as he held the door open for her and walked forward, smiling slightly as Two-Bit made himself comfortable on a fallen pillow on the floor.

She glanced up when Pat asked if she was alright though, and this time she didn't bother hiding her sadness at the mention of Alex. She should have figured Pat would ask again and really, she didn't want to keep anything from him.

Smiling slightly back she wandered over and took a seat next to him as he'd requested, absently lacing their hands together again before she began to speak. "I'm fine. Alex and I have just been drifting apart these past few months, that's all." She replied with a sigh.

"I don't know why and that's what bothers me, but he doesn't seem to want to fix it, so." She shrugged sadly. "Nothing I can do I guess." She looked down at their clasped hands, her thumb gently running over the back of his hand.

Patrick looked down at their clasped hands and then looked over at Two-Bit. He wished life could be as simple as the kitten's but he knew it couldn't.

"Maybe you should try to talk with your parents," he suggested, feeling a little out of place. While it was true his relationship with Pam wasn't perfect, they didn't drift apart like Alli and her brother. "See if they can help you."

He kissed her softly on the lips. "I'm sorry I can't be of more help."

Alliana grimaced when Pat suggested talking to her parents. "I would, but it wouldn't do anything." At least she was fairly certain it wouldn't. They would just tell her that this had been 'bound to happen eventually, they were growing up. They couldn't stay inseparable forever.' Although seeing the way Pam and Pat acted made her wish she'd been able to hold on to their bond for at least a while longer.

"He spends most of his time with his girlfriend, and hey. If she makes him happy I'm not gonna complain." She concluded, sighing before kissing Pat back. She smiled softly at his words. "It's alright, Bear. Thanks for trying anyhow." She said sincerely.

Reaching up to trace the outline of his lips with her index finger, she scooted closer to him before wrapping her arms around him in a hug and placing her head against his chest. "Enough about that. Time to be happy again." She said with a small grin, breathing in his familiar scent and enjoying being this close to him.

Patrick smiled softly as Alli put her head on his chest. He wished, for the first time, that he had a secret room or a soundproofed room. Having thin walls meant that you could hear everyone but it also meant that everyone could hear you.

He propped a pillow up against the wall and scooted backwards, slowly as to not push Alli away from him.

"That'll be easy. You just stay where you are," he said when Alli mentioned that it was time to be happy again.

Alliana was vaguely aware of Pat moving himself backwards and so she lifted her head for a moment, curious to see what he was doing. Noticing that he only seemed to be making himself more comfortable she leaned her weight off of him until he settled back again. Once he seemed ready she snuggled back against his chest, wrapping her arms loosely around his torso.

She loved being able to spend moments like this with him, because she was quite the cuddly person when she wanted to be. Although she was aware that anything that was said and done really could be heard through the walls, she hadn't had any.. naughty intentions and would be content to do just this for the rest of the time if she could.

Turning her head a bit so she could gaze up at him, she smiled softly at his comment and felt her cheeks grow a bit warm. He never failed to have that sort of effect on her at one time or another. "What a charmer." She teased, but didn't move like he requested. She hadn't planned on doing so anyhow.

"Lets play a game... like... twenty one questions?" She laughed, unsure of what they could ask about one another that wasn't pretty much already known, but at least it was something to do, right?

Pat breathed in deeply, enjoying Alli's scent. He loved being able to snug with his girlfriend and not have to worry about her wanting anything more. Of course, with his father yelling what he yelled in the Kitchen, Pat didn't think that he'd ever be able to have sex again.

"That's just how you love me," he said with a smile when Alli called him a charmer. "Sure. You can go first," he said when Alli suggested a game.

Alliana rolled her eyes but made sure the gesture appeared playful so that Pat would know she wasn't being serious. "But of course, how'd you know?" She said with a smirk before relenting and nodding in agreement. He did agree to her suggestion, but also made a point of telling her to go first. She pretended to give him an indignant look. "A charmer you are, but a gentleman I guess you're not." A moment later she grinned though, showing it was a joke.

Deciding to get right to the juicy questions, she looked up at him before speaking, her voice quiet so that only he would be able to hear it, and no potential eavesdroppers. "Where you a virgin when we slept together?" It was a simple enough question, of course. One she'd never been fully sure of because it wasn't something they'd just talked about.

Pat chuckled when Alli teased him. But when he heard the question, he turned the redest he had ever felt his cheeks turn. He even squirmed a little.

"Yeah," he nodded. "I was still a virgin."

He could hear Pam burst out laughing again from the living room. He chucked a pillow on the ground, and the laughter stopped.

He decided to return the question. "Were you a virgin when we had sex?" he asked.

Alliana hadn't expected such a severe reaction from Pat, and she tried to hide her amusement behind a hand. She didn't want him to think she was laughing at him of course, but it was a surprise to see him turning so red. Oops.. she hadn't thought the question would do that to him.

When he confirmed that he had been it didn't really change her feelings about it, it was something that was just now more or less confirmed and she nodded. What she hadn't expected was the sudden laughter from below and her eyes widened a fraction as she realized just how thin these walls were. "Geez.. I think you need to learn a spell to block all noise from leaving here or something." She said with a slight smirk.

It almost made her wary to answer anything in the case that both Pam and their father were still listening. The moment Pat returned the question though she could feel her cheeks growing extremely hot. She wasn't sure why she had expected Pat not to return the question, but now that he had and she was being put on the spot, she felt extremely uncomfortable.

It had been the one thing she could honestly say she'd probably ever kept from Pat, but now that the time had come for a confession.. she could always lie about it. But she knew in her heart she couldn't do that to him, and looking down guiltily she slowly shook her head. "No." The word left her lips quietly and she felt sick immediately after, her cheeks still burning. She didn't want him to be upset or something. And maybe her not being a virgin wouldn't have been such a big deal, if it hadn't been how she'd lost it.

To bloody Ryan Black back in sixth year, before she'd began liking Pat. For some reason or another she'd gone to the Leaky Cauldron in a foul mood, and he'd started feeding her drinks (which was so unlike her to do.) She'd gotten wasted rather quickly and he'd made the move on her. Having had a slight crush on them since they were children, one thing had led to another and bam.. she felt herself shivering a bit at the slight memories she had from the night came back to her.

She dared a glance up at Pat, worried at what he'd say and wondering if he'd want to know the story. In which she knew she'd tell him, if not ashamedly though.

Pat breathed deeply once to try to limit the amount of blood sent to his cheeks.

"Yeah," he nodded when she said that there should be a spell. "Dad's got a rule that states that we can't use magic until we graduate Hogwarts. He's even got our wands locked in a drawer in his office."

Pat looked at Alli, surprised that his question would cause the same reaction that he had experienced. Her answer slapped him across the face as if it had been a four by four. He desperately tried to push that reaction away from the for-front of his mind. Alli and he hadn't been dating when that happened....

"D-did it happen before or after we started dating?" he asked. The stutter came from him not wanting to know the answer.

Alliana frowned but nodded in an almost sympathetic way when Pat explained his limits on magic. She did wonder why but opted not to ask.

After answering his question and looking up to see his reaction, her stomach somersaulted dangerously at what she saw. She could see the surprise and then the shock immediately after, and without even realizing it she felt herself hugging him even tighter. She was praying that he wouldn't be angry but she was completely caught off guard by his next question.

She blinked a couple of times, her eyes widening as she tried to see if she'd heard him correctly. The question was mostly a smack to the face because she couldn't believe he'd think she would do something like that. Frowning she stopped hugging him immediately, sitting up so that she wasn't leaning on him anymore, her expression hurt.

"Before, Pat! Merlin, you think I'd do something like that to you?" She couldn't help but sound slightly angry, crossing her arms. She couldn't believe he'd even think she'd cheat on him! She looked away from him and began staring at nothing in particular, not sure what to think. She knew she could have launched into the story to make him feel better, but right now she was much too taken aback by his previous question to say much more.

Patrick felt her arms tighten around him but then he saw the shock on her face. When she sat up, he frowned a little. It was a simple question!

"Well, you're not exactly for-coming with the time line," he also couldn't help but feel a little angry. He was feeling a little insecure as well. Was the guy better than he had been? Who was the guy?

"Who was he?" he asked, almost so softly that he was afraid that Alli didn't hear him. She wasn't even looking at him. Was that question so out of line?

Alliana realized that maybe she was over-reacting a bit more then she needed to, but she'd just been shocked at his question was all. She'd been sixteen when she started dating Pat, of course there could have been others before him! While it would have been pretty wrong for her to do that sort of activity at any younger of an age then she had, but that wasn't really the point. She exhaled slowly and tried to calm herself, trying to put herself into Pat's shoes to see if she could understand why he'd be a bit upset.

She could hear the anger in his voice and continued to refuse to look at him, her lower lip trembling slightly as tears began to well in her eyes. She knew that this was bound to happen but she didn't want to fight over it. Although at this point, it seemed sort of inevitable. Exhaling quickly to rid the sudden tears she decided not to answer him. Mostly because she didn't have anything to say.

Her silence was basically the only reason why she heard his next question, and she hesitated for a few good seconds before she answered. "Ryan. Ryan Black.." She murmured, her arms still crossed as she stared at the ground. She didn't want to know his reaction to that one. Seeing as Ryan was a notorious womanizer and had even knocked someone up. She began to bite on her lower lip, bracing herself for whatever he might have to say.

Patrick wanted to hug Alli, to pretend like the question had never been asked and that they were still embarrassed by his father and his sister laughing at them leaving the living room.

The fact that she still wouldn't look at him was like a knife driven into his heart. He wanted to do so many emotions at the same time.

He was about to get up and hug her but her answer to his question stopped him.

Black? Ryan Black? The boy who impregnated two Hogwarts students at the same time? He wanted to be pissed--which he was. But mainly, he felt upset. Black was now the boy he would always be compared to.

"I--I see," he said softly. He wondered how it would look if he left the room--he wanted to.
