PostSubject: Caught in the act   Caught in the act EmptySun Sep 25, 2011 3:17 pm

Elizabeth was always the first one to admit when she was bored. That was got her in trouble while at Hogwarts--pranking the other students. Maybe that was what inspired her to take a walk around Downtown London. Muggle London, not Magical London. There was something just a bit more peaceful of the other city.

The path she was on was covered in snow, something she loved. It, unlike the city, had its houses spaced out nicely so the owners had room to breathe.

This'd be a nice area for Gavin and I to check out houses, she thought and then smiled at the thought of her boyfriend of twelve years. If anything so that mother could stop making comments about how she wasn't getting any younger and wants grandkids.

A sudden sight caught her eye, and she stopped. A path which branched off the one she currently was on. Normally, she'd stay on the path and ignore it but there was just something that gnawed at her curiosity.

PostSubject: Re: Caught in the act   Caught in the act EmptyMon Oct 03, 2011 1:05 pm

Gavin couldn't believe what he was doing right now - strolling downtown London with one of his muggle friends that he'd made a couple of weeks ago. He'd been coming down here more and more frequently to hang out with her, but that was the extent of where things went. He had his girlfriend of twelve years, and he was happy. Camila was nothing more then a friend (an attractive friend), but still a friend. She was young, full of life, always happy to be around him.. but he'd established with her that he was taken. And from there they'd just been becoming quick friends. He didn't see anything wrong with it, even if he wouldn't tell Elizabeth about her. Did that mean he was hiding something? He chose not to worry about it too much.

During their walk snow had fallen peacefully around them and dusted the surfaces of the sidewalk. In order to avoid black ice Camila had pulled him down a path she seemed to know well, and not really being familiar with the area he'd gone along with her. The path certainly didn't look like it was very traveled but he wouldn't question it, considering she knew this place more then he did. What he didn't expect was for her small hand to suddenly close around his as she tugged him along. In the pit of his stomach, he knew that something wasn't right and that he should pull away.. but he couldn't make himself as he followed her in a near daze.

The snowfall had begun again and she was laughing, the white flakes dusting her dark hair. She had a nice smile, he noted. She was twirling around to face him again, an almost devious smirk twisting up her lips. "What?" He questioned with a chuckle, one of his eyebrows arching in suspicion. 'Oh.. nothing at all..' She mused in a sing-song voice before ducking underneath a tree. Although it had no leaves it still offered minimal protection from the flurries and he merely shook his head with a chuckle. He was glancing around his surroundings when all of a sudden Camila was boldly standing in front of him, in his personal space.

He was so caught off guard that he froze, his blue eyes widened. "Oh.. uh.. what's wrong?" He managed to stutter out. This wasn't good.. he could practically see the disaster coming his way... 'Nothing.' She murmured, but she had a look in her eyes. He began shaking his head to protest, but she brought a single finger to his lips. 'It's ok. No one has to know.' Wait.. what? And then.. oh good god.. she was kissing him.. shit.. shit.. SHIT! Pull away! But.. it felt so nice... she was pushing him back against the tree... oh bloody hell.

PostSubject: Re: Caught in the act   Caught in the act EmptyMon Oct 03, 2011 1:13 pm

Elizabeth decided to take a risk and try the path that branched off, and found herself enjoying it immensely. It was quaint, and the snow allowed for a bit of romance. She chuckled as she brushed snow off of her red hair and remembered snow spent days around the lake with her boyfriend--while planning pranks of course.

She really did wish that Gavin was there with her. It'd be a nice little spot to have lunch in, maybe even escape the craziness that was her family. The wind began to pick up and she wrapped her scarf closer to her neck. It was the only magical thing she could wear in the muggle world without breaking the Statue of Secrecy. Merlin she hated that act sometimes.

A couple seemed to be very comfortable under a nearby tree and she smiled. She hoped the couple had the benefit of Gavin and her. There was just something about them that looked familiar about them. Elizabeth inwardly debated with herself to take a closer look for a good ten minutes. In the end, her curiosity won; the same curiosity that her mother used to curse when she was younger.

Gavin? she thought as she saw the man. No, it could just be a guy who just looked like Gavin.

PostSubject: Re: Caught in the act   Caught in the act EmptyMon Oct 03, 2011 1:24 pm

Gavin's heart was hammering in his chest at what seemed like unnatural speeds, and he felt dizzy with emotion. This was so wrong, and yet he couldn't find it in himself to pull away, or even push her away. And she was taking his lack of protest as even more encouragement to go further. Soon she was pressing up against him, her fingers getting lost in his hair. His arms remained by his sides, almost like she were kissing a statue and she sighed, kissing down his neck. 'C'mon Gav.. no one comes down here..' She whispered against his ear, her hands traveling down his chest. 'You know you want to...' She continued to taunt. And he wondered if maybe she were right.. but.. NO. He loved Elizabeth, not this very attractive woman who was practically throwing herself at him..

She was kissing him again and try as his might, his body seemed to be responding to her touches and soon his eyes were sliding closed, almost against his will. His lips were coming alive underneath hers.. and soon his hands were on her waist. Maybe it was the risque part of this that was appealing to him. Or maybe it was because he knew this was an offer he couldn't turn down. The guilt was going to eat him alive, he was well aware of that. But she said no one came down here.. and he was already in deep shit..

"Cam... I.. I can't.." He muttered against her lips but she merely kissed him again to shut him up. She was going to get what she wanted, and there would be no strings attached seeing as he was a taken man. Simple as that, right? She could feel him beginning to resist and she pulled back to pout. 'Gav, what's the /matter/? Everything's fine! You'd think I was trying to feed you poison, the way you're acting.' His eyes opened to see a flash of red.. oh shit.. could it be? Camila was coming in for another kiss.. his mind was basically on overload.

All the denial in the world couldn't shake the fact that it was really Gavin. With another girl. Kissing. Elizabeth literally thought she could feel her heart break into two pieces.

"Gavin?" she gasped, the lone part of her heart desperate for proof that it wasn't her best friend, her partner in crime, her boyfriend, the man she loved kissing another woman.

Her brown eyes were glossed over with unshed tears, but there was another emotion shining through. One she thought she would never feel towards Gavin.

Hatred. He broke her trust, trust that she thought was unshakeable. It should be after twelve bloody years of it.

Okay, Elizabeth. Maybe you're over reacting. It could be his sister.

It seemed the second Camila was kissing him was the second he heard his name, the voice gasping it unmistakable. Oh shit! Immediately he yanked away from Camila like he'd been burned and she too stepped back from him, although with not as much remorse as Gavin. Her dark eyes merely skimmed over the red-head without much impression and she bit her lip, clearly not caring that she'd just been caught with a taken man. 'Oh.. oops.' She said in a way that indicated she really wasn't sorry for what she'd been doing.

"E-Elizabeth! It's.. no.. look.. I.." His words were a jumbled mess as he frantically tried to scramble for an excuse, but there was none. Absolutely nothing. The pain written all over her face was awful and he could feel it yanking at his heart, especially when he noticed the unshed tears. Why would he ever do something like this to her? Why? No matter how tempting Camila had been, he still shouldn't have.. "Liz.." He knew it was hopeless and the tone of his voice reflected it. 'It's ok Gav, you can stay at my house tonight. Looks like you'll be needing somewhere to stay after this.' He turned on her then, his eyes angry. "Are you bloody serious? Are you out of your mind?!" He shouted at her, so unsure of what to do.

"Liz. I'm so sorry, I really am, I.." She was going to leave. He knew her like the back of his hand, after twelve years it was pretty self-explanatory. Sorry couldn't fix this but he didn't know what else to say..

PostSubject: Re: Caught in the act   Caught in the act EmptyMon Oct 03, 2011 1:46 pm

Elizabeth glared at the woman, who'd been kissing Gavin. If they weren't in a muggle neighborhood right now, she'd hex her. Oh, damn. The chances that the woman was a muggle just went higher.

"Gavin, you seem to have something on your shirt," she sneered. "I'd take care of it before entering polite society, where they don't cheat on their girlfriends."

Her wand was in her jean pocket, and Charms had been one of her best classes. Not better than Astronomy but good enough that she could hex Gavin to the moon and back.

She barely heard the words Gavin said to the woman, shaking a little in anger. Her friends had always teased her about having a horrid temper due to being a redhead. Time to put it into good use.

"How could you?" she hissed and stomped off. If he'd follow, she didn't know. She thought she did after twelve years but obviously not.

Camila remained unaffected by the severity of Elizabeth's stare, and Gavin honestly thought that maybe she truly had a couple of bolts loose in that head of hers. He realized she had no idea what Elizabeth was capable of but she still was acting like she had no brain, which surprised him because she'd always acted rather smart any time before. This was a side of her that was certainly new to him, and he didn't like it.

Casting a wary glance back toward Elizabeth he said nothing to her sneering remark, instead leveling his blue eyes on her face. Hearing the words cheat and girlfriend felt like a stake through his heart but he could only imagine how Elizabeth must have felt seeing it. If he'd ever been the witness of his girlfriend of twelve years with another man wrapped around her... how in the bloody hell had he been so idiotic? He was being a hypocrite saying Camila had no brain when he was the same way!

She was hissing at him and inwardly he winced, exhaling slowly. "Elizabeth, please.." She was stomping off and he tossed a glance (barely) toward Camila, his eyes full of distaste and distrust before he began after his girlfriend. 'Gavin! Where are you going? Just let her go!' But he ignored Camila's requests, speeding up to catch up to Elizabeth. His heart was still beating wildly, not knowing what was coming next. "Elizabeth, wait." For what? What could he even say? Still he couldn't just let her walk away..

Hearing Gavin behind her, Elizabeth didn't even turn around when she heard the woman's words. Her hand twitched for her wand but they were still in public.

"What?" she asked with a glare as he caught up to her. "Wait for what? So you could tell me how well that...skank can kiss compared to me? So you can tell me how bored you are in the relationship?"

Her voice hitched with all the emotion she was suppressing. She didn't want to cry in public especially as the woman was still in her line of sight. Her brown eyes, she knew, were still shining with unshed tears. She knew it was a little out of character to be rude to someone she had never met but she was furious at Gavin and the other woman.

"You better," she said poking Gavin in the chest," count yourself lucky we're in public! I'm still two seconds away from hexing you to the bloody moon!"

Caught in the act Empty
PostSubject: Re: Caught in the act   Caught in the act EmptySat Mar 10, 2012 5:01 pm

Gavin took a deep breath as he finally caught up to Elizabeth, bracing himself for the onslaught of anger that was sure to be coming his way within moments. And he was right, but he motionlessly stood there, taking what he deserved. He still couldn't believe he'd been bloody stupid enough to actually allow Camila's advances to work on him. He had been with the woman he loved for twelve years. She was his best friend, his partner in crime, his life. She'd never done anything to deserve what she'd just saw. Hell, she'd never even acted in any way but nice to him throughout their entire time together. His mind was still spinning, but he didn't even have a logical excuse for his actions. Even though there couldn't be an excuse. He didn't even have a reason to himself for as to why he'd actually allowed Camila to kiss him..

"No. I'm not going to tell you any of that." He replied evenly, although he wasn't exactly sure what he intended on telling her instead. Could it have been because he was bored in their relationship? He wasn't entirely sure, because he'd never found himself making any sort of advances on Camila before this day. She'd been just a friend and nothing more, and although she had always had an air of flirtation around her, he hadn't thought anything of it. Thinking back, he realized he probably should have, because now she was the cause of him very possibly losing the one thing that mattered to him most in the world.

He could tell by her voice that she was struggling with her emotions and he wanted to reach out and hug her, comfort her and erase the hurt from her pretty features. But he couldn't, and he knew that. "Wait because.. because I don't want to lose you, Liz!" He wasn't sure where his voice had come from but it jumped from his throat rather quickly, but it was the honest truth. Even if it didn't seem like it from what he'd been caught doing moments before. Bloody hell. "I.. I don't know why I did that.. I know it was so wrong.. Liz I'm so sorry.. please.." He stood still and impassive as she jabbed at his chest, although he replied to her with earnest. "You should. I deserve it." He mumbled miserably.

PostSubject: Re: Caught in the act   Caught in the act EmptySat Mar 10, 2012 6:05 pm

Her breath caught in her throat, and yet she was still able to make somewhat of an audible scoff.

"You don't want to lose me?" Elizabeth asked, her eyes flashing in anger. A clear sign to anyone who really truly knew her that she was passed the mad stage and veering to the pissed off stage. "Gav....." she sighed, trailing off and looking at the ground.

What had she done wrong in the relationship? No, she thought firmly. She was not going to blame herself for this! They'd been together twelve years, though.

Elizabeth heard his apologizes and part of her wished for a time turner to go back to a time where they weren't like this. But she couldn't and they were. One word though struck her more than any words he said. Knew. He knew it was wrong. Bloody Hell.

She looked at him one more time and then impulse over came her. Raising her left arm, she glared at him and--

SLAP!

Her palm tingled as it made contact with Gavin's face. It wasn't as good as hexing but it would have to do for being in a public Muggle place.

There were no words to say to him, or none that she could will herself to say aloud, and so Elizabeth turned on her heal and continued storming away from him.

Not caring if he followed or if he stayed.

Gavin saw her eyes flashing in anger, and after all their years together he knew that at this point, he probably should have been ducking for some sort of cover. But he maintained his ground, standing still with his eyes drilling into hers almost pleadingly. He was slowly beginning to realize that no matter what he said, it would just worsen the situation without making it any close to being better. There really was no way to right what she'd saw, what he'd done, and he wasn't quite sure why he couldn't bring himself to stop trying. Cheating just wasn't okay, no matter what silly excuse he came up with, no matter what he said or what he could even try proving. She'd caught him in the act, she'd seen everything, and he knew her well enough to know that there would be no swaying her. Even if she hadn't verbally spoken it, she'd made her mind up and he could feel himself slowly beginning to crumble. He had no right, seeing as he was the one who caused the entire situation, but it didn't make him feel any less miserable. Not with the almost knowing feeling that he was going to lose the only woman who had ever meant anything to him in life.

He heard his name and his heart ached even more, but what he didn't expect was for her to suddenly raise her arm. Before he could dodge it her hand came in contact with his face so hard, that he actually winced visibly. He stood completely and utterly shell-shocked for about a minute, his wide eyes staring at her in disbelief. She'd actually hit him. His Liz, had lashed out at him. Holy shit. He could feel the spot burning violently where she'd more then likely left her mark, but he couldn't be angry like he wanted to be. He'd deserved that, right? Without being able to help it, his anger seeped it's way into his voice as he drilled holes into her retreating back. "So what's this mean, then? Huh Elizabeth? What?" He yelled after her, his fingers curling into fists before he was suddenly storming after her.

He had no right to the anger he was feeling, but after being smacked clear across the face he couldn't help it. "Instead of running away from me, why not tell me where this leaves us?!" He already knew, deep down in his heart. But he wasn't willing to accept it. No, he couldn't accept it for that matter.

Hearing the anger in Gavin's voice only intensified the anger in her own heart. What right did he have to be angry? Didn't he just say that he deserved to be hexed to the moon?

"Why don't you tell me?" she snarled as she turned around to face him. Elizabeth was never (really) a violent person--usually allowing her hatred of someone to turn into pranks--but she made sure to keep her arms crossed her chest this time. She could see the mark her own palm had left and normally she would have felt awful about that.

"What right do you have to be angry Gavin?" Elizabeth asked, her wand hand twitching slightly. "You just got one tenth of what you truly deserve."

Where did that leave them? She didn't know. Merlin forbid they break up, but after what just happened Elizabeth knew it would be a while before she could see Gavin as anything but something for target practice.

"I don't know," she said in a whisper. The only outward sign she would allow of her troubled mind. But anger grew as she realized what else he said. "I am not running away Gavin Pierce!"

PostSubject: Re: Caught in the act   Caught in the act EmptySun Mar 11, 2012 3:19 pm

Gavin would have to admit, that in their twelve years of dating, he had not once experienced this side of Elizabeth. Well, not when it was directed at him anyhow. And it was not a pleasant experience by any means, it was quite awful actually. When she whirled around with a snarl, it took him a couple of seconds to actually comprehend what she'd lashed back at him. "I can't tell you, otherwise I would have!" He shot back. Mostly because he already knew what he wanted, but he was the one in the wrong in this entire situation. He was the cause for the strain, for the tension, for the lack of trust and for the shattering of hearts. He couldn't be the one to make the final decision at this point, because he wasn't the victim so to say. She was. And she held the entire power of what was to happen to them, ultimately. He was beginning to think she didn't fully realize that.

He made sure to put at least a short distance in between them so that if she came flying at him again he could at least have a chance to duck. Not if she decided to pull out her wand though, then he would have to rely on his own defenses to escape that. And as angry as she was, he didn't think she'd begin hexing him in the middle of a Muggle town in broad daylight. He could have been mistaken though, seeing as he'd never truly angered her this much before, he was pretty much treading in unchartered territory. "I already said it was what I deserved, Elizabeth," He said through gritted teeth, trying to calm himself down. Because she was right, he shouldn't have been angry. "Still doesn't make being slapped any better!"

So he wasn't making much sense, what else was new? He heard her whisper and he looked away for a moment, until a round of fresh anger was making an appearance. "Sure seemed like it." He muttered, not sure if she'd hear him but not exactly caring either.

Elizabeth didn't know how to answer what had been shot back at her. What did he mean, he couldn't tell her? He obviously knew what he wanted, so why didn't he come out and say it? A small part of her didn't want him to say it though.

She noticed the small distance Gavin had put between them and inwardly smirked. But then that smirk ended and a feeling of guilt replaced it. She wasn't proud that she had struck out at him, but it had been impulse. Something her mother had always said that she needed to work on.

You're in public, you're in a Muggle town, she thought to try to calm herself down. She had never fought with Gavin before, so it was unclear what would come of it.

"No, you said being hexed to the moon was what you deserved," she corrected him, glaring at him. She didn't know what to say about the being slap comment.

Her eyes flashed when he said that she was running away. No one ever accused her of running away!

"Oh, you are this close to making me forget where we are," she hissed, showing him the span of her patience with her thumb and forefinger.

PostSubject: Re: Caught in the act   Caught in the act EmptySat Apr 07, 2012 4:31 am

Gavin wasn't really surprised that Elizabeth didn't seem to know what to say to his response, but part of him wanted to get cocky about it. He managed to cut back his attitude as he stared back at her, wondering why she didn't seem to be fully comprehending her power in the situation. She was the one who could make the decision of what happened to them, ultimately. Him being the cause of everything put him at the severe disadvantage, because anything he said now could be considered completely insignificant. If he wanted them to stay together but she wanted them to end, then they would have to end. That was how it was, but instead of informing her of this, he merely kept his mouth shut. It might have been selfish of him, after what she'd just caught him doing, but he couldn't seem to bring himself to let her go. Even if he knew he would probably have to, and the thought was a sickening one to say the very least.

He remained the small distance away from her, his breathing a bit labored as his anger and frustration continued to charge through his veins. He was on edge, unaware of what was going to happen, and actually pretty alarmed by her anger. It had never been directed at him, and to be dealing with her wrath, it certainly wasn't enjoyable by any means. It wasn't scary, so to say, but it certainly put him off when he didn't know how to deal with it. Anything he said could be taken wrong, and it would set her off. He had to proceed with caution, but he had small comfort in knowing they were in broad daylight in a Muggle park. Surely, she wouldn't snap a lid and risk her magic for anger, right? He couldn't say the same thing once they returned to someplace more secluded, but he was going to avoid that at any costs right now.

Controlling the urge he had to roll his eyes at her when she corrected him, his jaw set in a straight line instead. "Alright, Elizabeth. I deserve that, and this too then." He muttered, trying to keep his tone regular instead of angry. Then he saw the flashing of her eyes, and he was getting prepared to duck. Hearing her hiss he almost flinched, but managed to keep his expression indifferent. He glanced toward the mere centimeter of space she was showing him before he exhaled. "Don't. Don't jepordize yourself because of this." He warned her.

Elizabeth continued to glare at Gavin, hoping that she could maintain her cool long enough to get back home and then hex the living daylights out of a pillow. She couldn't help but smirk at the distance he was keeping from her...and yet on the inside she felt incredibly sad. She and Gavin had never been 'lovey' but they'd never been that far apart either.

MUGGLE PARK, MUGGLE PARK, MUGGLE PARK! was what kept running in her head. That way, she could at least try to keep her cool but Gavin wasn't exactly helping with that either.

Noticing his change in posture, she glared at him as the warning was issued. She knew better than to use magic in a public area. Having a grandfather, a great-uncle and a father who were all Aurors would teach you a thing or two. Not to mention the grandmum and great-grandmum. Merlin, were they scary when they were mad.

"Don't worry," she sneered at Gavin--peeved that he had tried to warn her after what he did, "you're not worth it."

She wasn't going to turn on her heel again. No, she'd hear his next words and then head home to cool down before talking to him again.

Caught in the act Empty
PostSubject: Re: Caught in the act   Caught in the act EmptyFri Oct 19, 2012 1:12 pm

Gavin continued to stand beneath her glare, though he would admit that it was becoming increasingly uncomfortable. It was unfamiliar, something he'd never quite had to deal with directed at him, and the longer she maintained it the more uncertain he felt. He knew it was what he'd deserved after what he'd done to her, but he still couldn't help but wish she'd direct her gaze elsewhere. No. You deserve the hate. You deserve to see the pain you foolishly inflicted, you git. His mind reminded him, and he inhaled deeply. He noticed her smirk and while he questioned it momentarily, his own expression blank, it didn't take him long to realize that she was probably satisfied with the distance he was keeping from her. Which oddly bothered him, for they'd never actually been put in such a situation where they acted this way toward one another.

She glared at him some more, which he supposed was deserved for he probably shouldn't have warned her. He knew she was aware, and he knew with the position he'd put himself in that his best idea was to keep his mouth shut. He'd unthinkingly spoken out-loud though, and now he was bracing himself for the aftershock. Only, it never gave. Or it did, but not in the form of something physical like he'd expected. It came out in words, and as much as he tried to avoid the reaction, he flinched. Your not worth it. He knew he deserved it, he knew that, knew it knew it knew it, but it didn't make it any easier to hear. He took a step back from her, almost like she'd physically harmed him, his expression pained. Good. Now you know half of what she's feeling. His mind taunted, but his expression had again gone blank.

"You're right," Was all he finally said, lifting his hands up to show that he was done. Giving up. "I'm not worth it." Another pause as he shook his head, looking away from her for the first time. "You deserve so much better, Elizabeth." And that was the Merlin honest truth. He wasn't saying it for sympathy, or looking for her to disagree. Not at all. "You don't even have to say anything. Just know that I'm sorry for this. I am." She'd think he was lying. He knew it. "I'll leave you alone now." That was a promise. And with that, he turned away from her and began walking away, refusing to turn back. He knew she needed to be left alone, and quite honestly he could feel himself just giving up. Not that he had any right. He should have been fighting for what he wanted - which was her - but he just didn't have anything more to say.

Caught in the act Empty

Elizabeth watched Gavin turn away and honestly felt her heart break into a billion pieces. However, she had enough strength in her to know that it wasn't worth the energy. Not yet. She'd confront his lies when she had a clearer head.

It was hard to do though. Gavin was her best friend for years, more so than when they were dating. And he just....UGH! Her temper was coming back and there was one last thing she wanted to do before she apperated away. Leaning down, she picked up a soft bunch of snow and packed it softly into a ball. Turning around, she could just see the back of Gaivn's head and threw it with all her might.

Not staying to see if it hit him or not, Elizabeth quickly ran behind a clove of trees to allow for some privacy. There, she apperated back to her apartment and quickly pulled out her ugliest pillow.

"BOMBARDA!" she yelled, thankful her privacy charms were holding as the pillow burst into a million shredded pieces. Then, conjuring a box, she quickly took down all the photos she had of her and Gavin. She didn't want to look at them just now. She didn't want to cry over a boy. But she did. No matter how she tried to hold it in, she still ended up on the couch with a pillow over her face as her body wracked with silent sobs.
