Dueling Lesson One Empty

Leighton watched the students file in as she sat on top of her desk, tapping her trusted wanted against her thigh gently. She was excited to teach dueling, to teach the students the fundementals in a fight and have fun with it. As time motioned for class to start, she hopped off her desk and struck a charismatic and powerful pose, "Good morning students!" she chirped with enthusiasm. "I am Professor Vega. Though you are free to call me anything you please, so long as it is not crude."

Straightening out of her pose, she smiled. "Anyhow! This is dueling! The class that every witch and wizard should take lest they come across a situation in which they need to defend themselves. To start, get accquianted with the basic stance."

Spreading her feet a couple of feet apart, her right foot in front, left in back, she held out her arm, wand firm yet loose in her hand, she grinned. "Get this down to a tee, we will take volunteers to show us how it's done and learn a basic spell to unequip your opponent and you will be good for the day. You are free to ask for help, and you are free to talk. Have fun!"

Dueling Lesson One Empty

Valentina wasn't thrilled with the idea of her first day of classes once again, but she supposed it was better then sitting around in complete boredom. Her first class of the day was Dueling and this was at least interesting to her, so she didn't mind rolling out of bed and pulling on her less-then-appealing robes, grabbing her book bag and wand, and wandering toward the classroom. She wasn't completely familiar with the castle so it was a shock to her that she didn't get lost, arriving... early? It was a good thing other students began filing in moments after herself, because otherwise she would have felt like such a nerd. Exhaling through her lips she took a seat and smiled briefly in greeting to the teacher. A few minutes later, and the class began.

She listened to the blonde woman - who introduced herself as Professor Vega - speak, nodding to show that she was being attentive. When she began to demonstrate the basic stance for dueling, Valentina's eyes wandered along her body in order to make sure she got every single angle and arch of her body correct.

Listening as Professor Vega finished speaking, Valentina figured, why the hell not? Hand offering up into the air, she said almost lazily, "Professor Vega? I'm Valentina, and I'll volunteer to show the stance." She said. If someone else offered up as well she'd let them do it, but why not try? She didn't mind attention, and she had practiced it a couple of times before coming to class. Yes, maybe she was more of a nerd then she'd originally wanted to admit.

Blake walked into the class, realizing that she was once again on of the early students. Though she hardly minded. If it meant she learned, than that was okay. She wondered if people knew how much she liked to learn. Sitting down at a desk, she watched the professor give her speech and demostrate the stance in which they were supposed to exhibit.

Standing after the woman finished her stance, Blake began to practice it. Not as natural as she thought it would, so she stood there, breathing and going through each movement in her head until she got it. Seemed a tad ridiculous that an older student was doing this, but she did forget somethings after all. Maybe this was one of them... or she just never knew it.

After mastering the stance, she raised her hand. "Professor Vega, I am Blake Darling. I would like to demonstrate the stance," she told the woman and smiled softly. It felt odd being so willing to present, but only one other student had volunteered, she figured why not?
