Getting to Know

Alliana stood in her room, evaluating her outfit in the mirror and making sure she looked presentable enough before going out into the cold. She'd gone ahead and owled her brother's girlfriend Morgaine and had asked her to meet up for some lunch at the Cafe she'd been to a couple of times. The girl had been dating her brother for quite a while now and she could tell that Morgaine made Alex happy, and so she'd decided maybe it was about time she reached out to her and got to know her a bit more. Morgaine seemed nice enough, after all.. and now that Alli thought about it, she was friends with Pat too.

Running a brush through her hair she managed to slip on her boots and get out of the house in record time, not bothering to tell anyone where she was going. She'd be back in a little while anyhow, so she didn't think of telling anyone. She walked rather quickly down the snowy side-walk in order to avoid the cold as much as she could, not one to enjoy it when she didn't have anyone to warm her up.

She got to Silverstone's in no time, and gave a glance around. It seemed as if her company wasn't there yet and so she picked a table that seated two near the back of the place, by a window. Sliding into a seat she picked up one of the menus and absently began to flip through it as she waited for Morgaine to show up.

There was a slight tug in her stomach, and Morgaine couldn't help but feel slightly nervous about her meeting with Alliana today. She had owled her inviting her to lunch at Silverstone's Corner Cafe, and she had accepted the invitation without a doubt of course, she was after all Alex's twin sister.

It seemed strange how even though she had been in a serious relationship with Alex, she hadn't talked that much with Alli; she remembered when they had meet, it was at a park and there was Gwen too, but they had never been alone, and she wanted to cause a good impression on her; not only for hers and Alex's sake, but also because she was Pat's girlfriend. Morgaine tried to shake off all her nervousness, saying to herself that ALli had to be a great person and not that different from her, seeing that she was related to such amazing people. Taking a last glance at the mirror to check everything was in place, she made an original knot with her scarf, and went out to the apparating point; she didn't want to be late for her date with Alli.

Once she was outside the Cafe, Morgaine shook her head to he sides trying to easy all her nervousness and laughing at herself for being so silly, this was Alli, is not like they haven't talked at all. After her mental pep talk, she went inside and after looking around for a bit, she found Alli sitting at the end of the cafe, near a window, so she waved and walked right to where she was sitting. "hi!, I hope I'm not late" she said while sitting down.

Alliana shrugged her jacket off and draped it over the back of her chair before leaning over the menu again, her index finger trailing along the words as she read them. She wanted to get something nice and filling, and she was the type of girl who loved to eat, although it never really showed on her figure. She supposed that was where she was gifted, and she always wondered just how long she'd be blessed with her quick metabolism.

Thinking back as to why she was sitting in the Cafe in the first place, she realized that Morgaine had been with Alex nearly as long as she'd been with Pat. That made her feel even more guilty for not getting to know her sooner. Maybe it was because deep down, Alli always figured that Morgaine would be just another one of Alex's many flings. She felt horrible for even admitting that to herself but after seeing how her brother had been over the years, it was only natural for her to assume. She was glad that the two seemed to be working it out though, and the girl must have been an amazing one in order to rope her brother in.

She'd only talked to Morgaine a couple of times, but from what she could remember the girl had been nothing but pleasant and nice. She remembered the park meeting, and also briefly on the train before Alex had pulled the girl away.. so this would be the first time they were to be around each other alone. Alli wouldn't lie, she was slightly nervous.. but not as much as she would have expected herself to be.

Looking up when she heard the bell above the door ring, she saw it was Morgaine that was walking in. Lifting a hand to wave back, smiling as Morgaine closed the distance between them. "Hey! Nah, I've just been here a couple of minutes." She mused, pushing her menu across the table toward Morgaine so that she could pick something out. "Hope you're hungry!" She added, before crossing her legs under the table. "So, how have you been?" She started right into the conversation. Nothing she hated more then awkwardness.
